Should be three nuts holding up the spring plate, two front, one back
Bit of a fiddle but you can get it using a 3/8 drive with extension and universal joint
Now from memory, the nut size on mine was odd, something like 16mm, or could just have been the rust. You'll want plenty of release oil on it and a good snug fit, not one you want rounding off. I had to hammer a tight socket over mine to get it off.

As recurveandy has suggested, you have to remove the entire assembly, including the Item 17 plate, from the rear suspension to get at the top nut. You have to remove the three Item 27 nuts from the three studs that are welded to the body. Since they are welded and breaking a stud is kind of a disaster, soak the nuts and the studs with your favorite rust remover, e.g. Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, etc. a few hours before you start the removal process. Take care to note the orientation of the Item 17 plate and mark it as left or right if you take both shocks off at the same time.
