    a little concerned

ok, had the cv boot replaced about 2 weeks ago, and now the car has developed a kinda metallic clunky noise when turning at slow speed
and there is no vibration thro the steering wheel,

cant hear anything when moving, only really when parking, etc.
i checked the wheel nuts and they all seem tight,
do i send the car back to the garage?? help please

Top mounts or the front springs are moving on their mounts.

QST charged me 120+vat to do the fronts about 18 months ago.
I think they are shot again so i'll do it myself

I have that from the n/s of the car. I think it's the spring rotating in it's mount, there is a bit of a twang with it as well.

Does this noise happen when moving or will it do it when staionary?? IE when you turn the steering lock to lock??? Or does it make a 'clacking' noise on full lock when moving?

only seems to be makin a noise at slow speeds, i.e. when parking

and its makin a noise as the wheel is turned, but its not constant, like something is binding then releasing

thats the coil spring, sounds like the top mounts have collapsed, nothing major to worry about, just do it sooner rather than latter. Its a strut out job

is it worth lookin for a up-rated replacement?

when i replaced the corrado ones, i went for JOM poly ones. so much better than the OEM ones they replaced

You can try looking, but the stock S2 ones are pretty good, some say use the UR ones, but i have known them not last very long either.
