It can be done:
Took me about 3.5 hrs to remove the "old" one, spent an hour getting the new one in place, bolted in and the steering column attached. Waiting on some new compression washers. I guess another 1.5 - 2 hours to get everything torqued up and back on the deck with fluids in. So all in all about a 6-7 hour job, probably 7-8 hours on an S2 as I think you would need to remove the throttle body and possibly the inlet manifold.
Would not like to try it on a cq / 3B with the battery tray in place, in fact I doubt it is even possible; The rack does not fit through the tie-rod hole in the inner wing. I had to wrestle it up through the gap where the battery tray would have been. Perhaps you could drop it out the bottom by removing the passenger side driveshaft and heatshield.
I will do a write-up with some more pics over the next few days
