S6 Sport Springs???

Looking through the sales blurb and parts catalogue i see they offered the URS6 with standard or 'sports' springs.

Does anyone have any idea how they look and ride with these? Or have a car with them on?

Also does anyone know part numbers for them?

After fitting my car with S6+ wheels it sits too high for my liking and have had bad experiences with aftermarket springs!

First all the 17" S6+ wheels will not make your car sit higher unless you put tyres on them that are larger than the factory specified.

The "sport" springs are basically the same springs that the 1992 UrS4s came with. That year they got the shortest, stiffest springs and both front and rear sway bars. This was the 1BE suspension code on the build tag in the boot (or warranty book). After that in NAmerica, only the avants got the rear sway bars and all of the springs were taller and softer. In Europe and the rest of the world, the UrS4s and UrS6s could be ordered with the sport suspension (1BE), otherwise the suspension code was "1BA" on the build tag.

Eibach and H&R make, or at least made, good quality springs. The H&R 200 20vt linear 29800 springs are very popular on this side of the pond. I have been running Eibach springs on my 93 S4 (originally 1BA non-sport) with Bilstein shocks/dampers siince 1999

Anyone know the Eibach Part numbers and potential suppliers ?



With what rims/tyres sizes, and what shocks are being used with the H&R / Eibachs?

I'm currently using Mk 1 S8 rims with 255/35/18.

Just wish to know what others think of the above two spring brands.

Any other brands for springs people would recommend / suggest ?

While system springs would be an alternative, albeit more expensive, I don't know what length or poundage to specify.
