Apparently there are two types of subframe bushings - with 10mm and with 12mm bolts. Is there also a difference in the outer dimensions? Can solid aluminium ones made for a car that has 10mm subframe bolts be used in a car made for 12mm bolts just by enlarging the holes?

Before going and ordering them I notices something strange. These are the bushings I'm going to get:

Which one sits on top of the subframe and which one on the bottom? All the bushings I've seen here on the forum had identical upper and bottom parts, but here it's different... Why? My guess is they're doing them that way so they have the combined height of the original bushings and not to have to use shorter bolts and for that the bigger one sits on the bottom and the smaller one on top? Any guesses?Comment

Don't know really, but using the bigger one on top of the subframe would give you more room for the exhaust/downpipe maybe?Comment

erm, had a look on the prospeed website and think you are mistaking.
These are crossmember mounts according to their site, no subframe mounts!
Not that I know where these would be used on a crossmember though...Comment

So here's what I got - they are proper front SUBFRAME bushings. I just went to the Prospeed shop and talked to Niki Zlatkov (owner of the company and driver of the Audi S1 Replica mentioned few times here). They are exactly the bushings I'll be needing. They make the top ones a little bigger intentionally to lower the subframe for more exhaust clearance, lowering the center of gravity and for more oil sump protection. He said that if I want to they can make them with different dimensions, like the 034 Motorsport ones for example, because they had none in stock and were going to manufacture new ones for me. Despite that I decided to use their original design with the bigger top bushings. Will have them ready in a week. Thanks!Comment

Probably a mistake in the translation. They meant to say subframe and not crossmember. In the Bulgarian version of the site they have them as subframe bushings.Comment
