    Steering Rack Overhaul Service

    Hello!

I'm looking for a shop that will overhaul my steering rack for me. I've found these guys: http://www.power-steering.co.uk/

They will do the overhaul for £180 +vat. Do any of you have any experience with this shop. Are there other shops that you would recommend?

Is this for a servotronic or non-servotronic rack?

As far as I'm aware, kits are NLA from Audi or from ZF Germany who said they're no longer produced. Spoken to my local rack company and they tried and got the same conclusion.

I've been in the process of putting a kit together so I can start offering a rack service to people here.

Could you(or anyone else) do me a massive favour and get the ZF part number from the tag of the rack? That's of you have it off the car anyway...

Numbers from that thread are the Audi part numbers, I'm trying to find a zf number.

                It's a 10digit number probably starting either
                7881955xxx
                7847955xxx

It'll be on the rack somewhere....

The seals are all standard metric seals any professional rebuilder will have them on the shelf

Yea, the orings are easy, I've got them sorted. It's the plastic seal that goes on the main cap and the metal seal housings that are the problem.

The housings probably don't need to be changed but the plastic seal ideally does as its part of the seal for the main end cap.

If you could get a zf part number that would be amazing. I'll probably be able to arrange a supply of them then.
