Strut top mounts

Hi All,
Whilst trying to diagnose a suspension knock today, I noticed that when trying to check for tightness of the strut-top nut on N/S/F of my Avant, that the whole mounting (Including the top of the spring) was trying to turn with this nut. Can I assume that the Top mount has siezed, or is the fault with the O/S one, which turns freely??
Any suggestions where to source the Mounts at a sensible price, are they any different to the FWD 80 Avant/Saloon/Coupe?

What nut were you tightening? The hex nut you can see from the engine bay? Or the castle nut that holds the top mount onto the strut?

You use an allen key to hold the strut anyway when tightening.
