    Opinions: Helicoil or M8->M10

    Ive got at least one stripped thread in my subframe for the ARB mounts.
    The bolts are M8.
    Im torn as to whether i should M8 Helicoil them, or whether i should drill and tap out to M10?
    Opinions please....

    On mine I drilled it through with an 8mm drill and just put a loose nut on the back.

      I would probably tap to M10 but I have never used helicoils so cant say what they would be like. I have one of the nuts missing on my new front subframe so dunno what I'll do there.

        Not a bad idea providing access to the back isnt too bad.

          I second the idea of drilling straight through and using a nut. Helicoils are fine, but maybe not in this instance.

            Yup drill and nut. Not enough material there for a helicoil any way

                Use an insert stronger than a helicoil.
