    5 stud conversion, how to?

converting a 4 stud poverty spec B4 to 5 stud.............

Search button is NOT my friend lol

so, we know S2 hubs and V6 CV joints

do the S2 stub axles fit poverty spec 4 stud bearings/carriers?

is there someone who makes 4x108 to 5x112 hubcentric adaptors? (this is possible with 1 common stud, but no luck finding them right now)

i know you can use 2 sets of adapters but this is gash, dont do this!

    any other ideas or links??

    cheers

S2 front hubs, but you need v6 quattro cv's. Those will slide right onto the smaller driveshafts (Tdi, 4 cyl etc) and fit into the hub. You'll struggle to find a good quality new cv joint. If you're converting a V6 fwd to 5 stud, the S2 CV joint will fit onto that driveshaft. If converting a V6 quattro no need to change the cv at all.

Rears, S2 doesn't have a stub axle? You use facelift B5 A4 rear discs with the built in hub, slides straight onto the 80 stub axle. If quattro you need the full s2 lot.

The stud isn't common on the adapters, there's still 4mm difference. They have been done before, but its not something I'd like to drive hard on.

Another front option which could work, is any 82mm front wheel bearing housing (v6) with a drive flange from an Audi 100 which should still be available new.

What about if need to change an Audi CQ rear bearing housings from 75mm to 82mm bearings? Is it bolt on only from 3B?

Machine the housing and use the front hubs in the rear

Alex - I start to broke the drive shafts over 550 engine HP. Now I'm 640...
I am with stock CQ rear driveshafts, bearings, housings - just the hubs are front from A4.
Now I'll put a V8 diff - thats why I need bigger housings - to keep the 82mm bearings...
              Thanks

For the rear you can use the setup from s2 avant if you have a b4 , including driveshafts, i used this setup for my b4 (on rear), and it holded till now (700+hp). I bought the whole rear setup from forum, not to expensive, including, disc rear hub carrier, etc.

                  I am with Coupe....it is not B4 .
I just spoke with one Audi guru, and he said that I could machine the rear housings to take the 82mm bearings. But - which bearings.....Think to try this with hub's from A 200 or A 100....

There ain't much meat left in the hub but if you are worried about strength you could turn the outside down a touch and press on a ring to strengthen it
