Thanks. I see the bar but with all the other non-OE mods on Sonic's car, I have to question whether the bar is OE ABY S2 or OE UrS6 transferred over. Could be real but I wonder because the parts diagrams for a 96 ABY S2 don't mention the Allen head bolts used with the tapered/wedge-ended bars.

I presume its because the battery positive terminal is mm's away.

To be fair I can think of quite a few updates the late ABYs had that are not in the parts database, its not gospel
I would guess they used the same parts bin as the C4 chassis of the time?

Found this for the 96 RS2's (lists the allen head bolt which implies that the 645A bar was the tapered one by that time). Haven't found a similar listing for the 96 S2 ABY coupe but the 96 A80Q S2 avant lists the Item 14 allen head bolt. Go figure. I think this horse is dead (enough).

Thanks. I guess all the S2s, RS2s and the UrS6s got the tapered end bar and allen head bolts starting in the 1996 model year.

Why Audi didn't got to 8A0805645B as the revised part number with a supercedence date escapes me.

*VERY* squashed ends. Wow. I guess that is the least expensive way to make a strut bar. Thank for posting Andy. I will use at least one of them in a revised version of the post.
