hi can someone please help me with the strut tube. im told there 2 types i throat i had the right ones bit im not sure any more can anyone tell me what i need to measure. on the strut tube i need to know as i need to cheque the size or something to look at why the legs are still on the car thanks

You need to measure the outside diameter of the front strut

you need to measure the diameter of the thread. the tubes are all the same, but on the tubes that are not S2/rs2 they shrink at the top, where the thread is. it is 55 for the s2/rs2, and 50 for all others.

I think you can get either on S2's, 50 or 55. No telling what you've got unless you measure them, nightmare.

ok i have the get the size of the thread iv been doing it close to the spring cup on the strut thanks

I've read on here that some people say that 2.8 v6 struts are 55mm,any truth in this

I think they just used whatever was in the parts bin towards the end of production
