    S2 Coupe lowering

    Alright all you Audi nuts

So out last night meet up with Martin (as2q) had a good chat about each others cars. Checking all those slight differences between them.

Seeing alot of you guys where telling me to drop the car!! especially with those new bbs's.

As Martin said the rims look smart, just needing the car a little more planted to the ground.

So the question is: What lowering springs do you guys use and recommend??

I know alot use the H&R lowering springs, but searching the net can't find any to buy just a heap of gmax.

Be interesting to hear what you guys suggest. If there are big differences between different brands. With performance, life span. Any horror stories. And also where's best to buy.

    Thanks in advice Chris

Ps Martin your car sounds awesome!! Get on and find those rims and do the callipers

I've got Weitec shocks and springs on my saloon and they're great, i went for the 60mm kit and I love they way it sits.

Best thing is to contact your local H&R distributor and see if they can supply replacement springs for the 29939-2 cup kit, front: 29939 VA1, rear: 29939 HA1

Or bite the bullet and buy some KW's.. Best of both worlds you can play about with ride height until your satisfied.. Did I just open a can of worms

I lowered mine last year, got sick of pot holes and speed bumps and put standard springs straight back on with Bilstiens

KW V1 is a good idea..if you wanna spend some more

Car will be more planted on the road, not a bad ride at all, and you can adjust the height to your hearts content.

                  I share the same feeling.

From mine to the main road is just a beaten track!! Bad enough it being standard height.

Roads around Aberdeen are rough in places.

Pete (acid burn) was suggesting to keep stock springs and add koni shocks. Think implying it would lower it some. Not too sure

Thanks for that Irish. Will give that a try. Assuming the springs will fit standard strut housings??

Either get kw's and set them up properly and leave them at that (thru yaz it won't be much more than shocks and hnr's)

bilstiens will kill your back if with lowered springs.

You could have your stock springs retensiled like a80avant/vasilis did.

Koni's are what i'd recommend, those with stock springs was brilliant on mine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YbnloVUEE8 - that was my old s2 on 19's with koni's and stock springs.

Score, just double checking for Drummer. I have H&R's on my avant with stock shocks. Lowered 30mm. I may also know of a second set that lower an avant more but not sure how much lower they are. The guy reckons they are 50 or 60 mm drop springs from H&R but isnt sure. Anyway of telling?
