    Posdible Upgraded PAS Fluid Cooler

Found this on the bay and thought it might be worth a try when I fit an oil cooler in the new year, not really sure if it's needed but thinking on track it'll be getting hot as the PAS works harder...

    Thoughts?

On the rallyrep, we've fitted the cooler coil from the S6... It mounts up on the subframe.

TBH, I was more worried about the accordion hose splitting. The steering assistance can become a bit impaired under high loads for extended periods buts it's very rare. would look cool though

Thread revive. My steering was affected by overheating PAS fluid at ADI this weekend. Noisy and heavy steering when the fluid got hot and back to normal once it had cooled. I'm going to try a cooler fitted in front of the main rad. Another track day required to see how much improvement it makes. I'm looing at something like a 7 or 9 row jobbie, has anyone fitted one already?

I changed my hydraulic oil for military h515.
Much better resist on hot and cold temperatures. My pump and steering is a much better.

Exotic stuff, not sure how easy it would be to get that juice over here. May be easier/cheaper for me to cool the fluid I have. Low temps aren't an issue in the UK.

Not that hard, and it's not too expensive either.

AeroShell Fluid 41 contains additives which provide excellent low temperature fluidity as well as exceptional anti-wear, oxidation - corrosion inhibition and shear stability. In addition metal de-activators and foam inhibitors are included in this high viscosity index fluid to enhance performance in hydraulic applications. AeroShell Fluid 41 is capable of wide temperature range operation.AeroShell Fluid 41 is intended as a hydraulic fluid in all modern aircraft applications requiring a mineral hydraulic fluid. AeroShell Fluid 41 is particularly recommended where use of a "superclean" fluid can contribute to improvements in component reliability, and can be used in aircraft systems operating unpressurised between -54C to 90C and pressurized between -54C to 135C. How does it work with the seals when moving from G002000 to Aeroshell 41? No leaks so far?
