The insert don't fill the strut

Trying to make sure I get the correct shocks for the car now.
I'm going for Bilstein B6's.
What measurement do I need to quote? The od of the shock absorber is 49mm. The od of the strut is 50mm. Can someone please advise which I should quote when ordering.
Thanks

I'm running B6's front and B8 rear - H&R lowering springs 30/30. Couldn't be happier, its on the harsh side for family transportation, just as we like it. I've had B8's on a rover 620ti and audi 80 avant FWD before.Leave a comment:

I've got the koni's and they've been on the car for over 10 years with HR springs. You adjust them before fitting.Leave a comment:

Hi Alistair, you have PM.
Thanks

Thanks Yaz. I now have a decision to make. I've had a decent price for straight replacements from Pete at Quattro Corner. Question is, do I save money with stock replacements, or do I splash out on Bilsteins. I've also heard that the Bilsteins have a habit of blowing seals.
Any recomendations?Leave a comment:

The B6's are designed to work with standard springs and lowered springs of upto 40mm max, anymore than that and it's recommended to go for the B8's which are slightly shorter to accommodate really low cars.
I know there are a few peeps on here that are running Bilstein B6's and I'm sure they will fill you in...
Thanks
Yaz

That seems like a decent price. Does anyone here have these on their car? What are they like? The rest of the car, springs & shocks, is standard. Will these be suitable?
Sorry for the multiple questions. I've not dealt with anyhing other than standard suspension before.

Just spotted Koni Sports for £139 inc vat each. Product code is K-86-2086SPD2. These are adjustable aswell although I don't know if that is on or off car.

Tried Andrew Page. They deal with Munroe shocks who apparently don't list anything for the front.Give these a call for a price - there is a branch in E/port near the boat museum
