PAS Pump Pipes

I have a leak from one of the joints on the pipe from the pump to the bomb. I was wondering, is it possible to replace these pipes with braided hoses and new banjo fittings.

Might brigten up the engine bay a bit. Might also be a bit cheaper than dealer and easier than sourcing less than reliable used pipes. Has anyone already done this? Any thoughts?

I got a second hand but unused one from an old forum member for maybe a tenth of what it cost through the dealer/ suppliers who are on here.... Maybe worth asking if anyone has another one mind you I think I may have hit it lucky with mine. Luckily I asked the right person at the right time I think. IIRC from Audi and Pete Reeve they are different from ABy to 3b and right and left hand drive vehicles and are in the region of £225 or something ridiculous!!! Oh and NLA from Audi once the guy had told me the fact there were several showing all NLA....

The hoses can be remade using the original end fittings for little money. Hose is cheap to buy by metre and pressing in the fittings takes about a one minute. Only thing more difficult than making an ordinary hydraulic hose with pressed fittings is that you need a right size restrictor in the pump to bomb to hose.

Take it to Pirtek, they will cut the old crimps off and make a new hose using your old hose ends, it costs about £40 per hose. Just make sure they reuse the plastic perforated hose liner insert that comes out of your original one
