    URS6 Rear Shock Absorber

    Hi all!

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement rear shock absorber for my URS6? Have contacted Audi but there aren't any in stock. Have tried several websites but no luck. They are specific to the S6 - which is why I can't find any easily!

    OE part number is: 4A0 513 031 G.

    Thanks!

Seeing as your country flag says USA , I checked with Genuine Audi Parts in San Diego. Their price is $259 and it seems to be available (2 or 3 days).

The stock shocks were made by BOGE. Look for a BOGE Turbo Gas listing for the UrS6. Probably closer to $100 per shock. Heck, you can probably get Bilsteins for around $125 a corner. Try Shox.com

Boge/Sachs also offers an aftermarket replacement part number 170 141. Sachs doesn't differentiate between sedan and avant the way Audi does. Per Sachs this shock fits both avant and sedan.

          I knew you weren't a Yank!

Anyway, for stock height springs, the Boge Turbo Gas PNs are:
          fronts, 32-402F and rears, 32-115F

I just downloaded the BOGE catalogue from the ZF website (and confirmed those PNs) (pg 44/770)

Now you just need to find a UK Sachs / BOGE dealer.

Thanks for your help. It seems like the right one, although typically mine is the only one not listed! The AAN engine has it's own part number - 4A0 513 031 G. Not sure what the difference is compared with the other engine codes. I'm guessing the 'G' is something to do with a revision as my car was made in 1997 (so one of the last).

When putting in the Boges reference number you gave me it takes me here:

            What do you think?

I am in the process of looking for OE replacements for my S6 avant also. I have 4A9 513 031 D as the number. Does the G supersede the D?

ah you've got a saloon. sorry.

juggling too many things here at work.......

The G is the correct number for the S6 avant in Europe. The number in the US is different.

Not the correct shock. 441513031B = 1988-91 Audi Type 44 (C3) rear shock.

Boge Turbo Gas, fronts, 32-402F and rears, 32-115F are the correct numbers.

(ZF owns both Sachs and BOGE). Look for the BOGE numbers above or find a SACHS catalogue and find the correct UrS6 application.

Not OEM but Bilstein B6/B8s are still easily sourced for C4 S6. About £140 each in UK.

Thanks Dave for the correct part numbers and info! I've gone through the Webcat 3 online catalogue and found this:

Still can't see my part number! Perhaps I just ought to ignore the 'G' as I haven't seen it listed anywhere. Just to confuse things the equivalent Sachs part number is: 170 141 as saltinot said earlier. So it seems that part number is also correct?!

You could contact dieseldes on here, he just fitted a Spax kit and the rears didn't fit, he sent them back and they are going to make a set for his car, might be worht seeing about a few sets.

For what it's worth, I would be very weary about buying Spax shocks if you intend on driving your car hard. I've driven many vehicles fitted with them over the years and they always seem to go "soft" after a few miles of spirited driving, albeit on crappy Irish roads. Their chrome plating doesn't seem to last too long either, and we don't get much salt on our roads unlike the UK.
Spax are more of a joke in our motoring circles. I would recommend Boge, or Billies if you have loads of money.
