Could other worn components contribute to fast wearing top mounts?

I was wondering if other worn components could contribute to fast wearing top mounts? A lot of us seem to to go thought top mounts at an alarming rate. Im sure when my Father had his RS2 in the later 90's early 2000's top mounts werent an issue. I seem to need to replace my top mounts every 6 months (on a daily driven car).

Does anyone have any ideas what worn components contribute to fast wearing top mounts? I was wondering if engine, gearbox and diff mounts could contribute? I guess with age other components can put more stress on others?

    Any opinions/thoughts?

current road states contribute to the wear.

also depends on how often you use it and how pedantic you are about feel. some never feel the issue.

I ran promounts for 2 years and had no issues at all in that time.

I am sure that the quality of parts has gone down in the last 10-15 years, as well as road maintenance being almost non-existent (in the UK anyway).
I have just done in my 2nd set of Meyle HD mounts in less than 1200 miles.

Weight of the car, lowered suspension with springs/shocks, low profile tyres, enthusiastic driving, and crappy roads all add to there demise. I ran identical suspension setups on a cq20v and S2 Avant, the avant chews through them much faster due to the added weight.

Quality of the mount is everything, i had a set of promounts last six years on the CQ, and a set of Mehle HD last a week on the avant. I'm in the process of rebuilding my old promounts with new Boge mounts from Audi and a set of mount savers II. Fingers crossed they perform as well as they did on the CQ as im sick of replacing these damn top mounts every month
