  • Tubular subframes

Any one interested in the idea of front and rear subframes made from 2' and 1" tube with plate sections as required?
I do a fair amount of Jig and Fixture design work in my job and feel could confidently model up a subframe if was any intrest

This all rides of the back of finding my rear subframe a little ropey after sandblasting...

I'd be keen on a rear ABY coupe subframe Mine looks horrible as well, not sure how much thickness I'll have in some spots once it's blasted.

I would be for looking at the type 85/89 (B2/B3) quattro front and rear subframes as they are all essentially from what I can see the same lower level part with just different brackets welded on, so all 'small chassis' cars from 78 to 91 and possibly B4 front frames.

I'll measure up my various ur quattro and 90 quattro parts and make up a quick model in next few days

Good Idea. The subframes do take a bit of a battering. Maybe a good idea to make provision to mount a cross brace at the back of the front subframe.

I could see there being a market for Coupe rear sub-frames, see a lot of cars with rotten ones.
