Has anyone tried these German made shocks as a cost effective alternative to Sachs and Boge? I am looking for some oem spec replacements for my wifes Skoda Fabia RS and dont want or need to pay a premium for any of the top brands. The Mapco prices are very good, but are they as good as Sachs or Boge, which seem to be slightly more expensive.
Any info would be appreciated.
Ok,so nobody knows about Mapco. As far as low cost oem replacement shocks are concerned, what is considered best,Boge,Sachs or Monroe? Any opinions welcome.
Never heard of them. I would suspect Boge are whats fitted from the factory, and would be my first choice of the brands listed, then Sachs and Monroe. We also have a Fabia vrs which is a great little car, but never liked the suspension setup, a set of konis would do wonders for it.

Boge,Sachs and Monroe are all available on three different european ebay sites that I have looked at. (Uk,Germany and Italy). Looking at German ebay is how I came across Mapco, who actually list the Audi S2 on their site, but they dont supply shocks for it.
For anyone interested,I ended up purchasing a set of 4 Sachs shocks for the Fabia RS from German Ebay for €184.00 including delivery.I got Advantage for the front and SuperTouring for the rear, as they dont seem to do the Advantage range for the rear.
From what I can see online,Sachs and Boge are essentially the same, both being produced by ZF,but Sachs cost a little less. The Mapco shocks were even cheaper, but of unknown quality.
With shocks as they have a big influence on the behavoiur of the car, together with springs, I think you did the correct thing in buying "premium" branded shocks.
For the sake of a couple of quid it's not worth it, especially when you take your own time or garage's time fitting them, if you decide they are no good, and you need to buy the branded ones and swop them in.
lots of their stuff on ebay, top mounts, cv kits bearings etc. I presume being a german company everything must need TUV approval so should be a reasonable bet?
I stuck some Mapco inserts in my CQ20V, they are fine, but I don't track it etc, where I am sure they would struggle, but fast road driving is fine on them
