    Avant shock recommendations

    Hey guys,

Just after a bit of advice really. After fitting a really cheap 40mm "sports" shock n spring kit to my coupe and quickly realising that all the crashing around is doing my head In, as I live in an area with more pot holes than cats eyes, I've decided I need to fit something a little less **** on my 80 avant.

It will be lowered around 60mm on DIY coilovers but I just need some recommendations on shocks. I don't wanna be spending a crazy amount of money on them but I want something decent. I know it's a bit of a contradiction with it going to be lowered but I want the comfiest ride I can get (as its a daily)

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks, Tom

why not just buy some cheap coilovers then when they break change the inserts, or buy some nackered ones and get new inserts from Leda or Gaz

i know Acidburn has a nearly new pair of rear coilovers, ask him if there for sale

also B5 Quattro/S4 are the same

Thanks for the advice but I'm pretty set on going down the DIY coilover route as I have most of the parts for the job ready to go.

Has anyone tried the spax non adjustable shocks? 25% upgraded from oe aparantly and seem a very reasonable price

        Still looking.

Does anyone else know about fitting b5 Quattro/s4 coilovers onto a b4 2wd car like sleeper_avant mentioned? The fronts look very different.

So do you mean if I buy b5 Quattro rears they'll fit my b4 2wd? Or they'll only it a b4quattro?

Also does anyone know if I could use the inserts and springs out the b5 fronts and use them in my b4 struts I've converted to coilovers?

Edit: just noticed b5's don't have inserts.

Can anyone recommend or have forsale a set of coilovers that will fit my 80 avant?
