    Is This Right

As some of you know I have had some suspension issues of late when I changed the inserts and put lowering springs on. Well today I decided to do the fronts and turn the springs the right way up anyway on taking the front o/s strut out I noticed this. The top mounts are brand new and have been on the car a week before removing them today, it's only the one mount that has done this. My question is this ok or not.

Strictly speaking the bearing should be bonded to the rubber mount, but I've run mine for a while with the bearing not attached and it's not been noisy. Once the strut is built up the bearing has nowhere to go, it will only fall out when you strip the strut.

It should be a press fit, I have had new ones com with the bearing separate, and you need to use a socket and vice to press it in.

Can it slide side to side when it is seated?

Was it in the right way up? (I have seen them in the wrong way up, and then the bearing does not work)

Well it's all back together and all the issues I had have all gone bar one and I think that's down to the n/s wing being damaged on the lip so when I go over a speed bump or dip in the road the wheel catches the wing and there is a slight scuffing sounds like when the plastic part of the bumper catches the road, hope to resolve this when I fit the new wing.

Its not the end of the world as the bearing is only lightly pressed into them. Ideally they shouldn't separate, but ideally they should be such a **** design to start with.

They are however the wrong mount, blues are for the back, and do sit lower than the black or green mounts, but again not really an issue.
