ABS Hub Sensors - How to remove when seized ?

Looking for any reasonable ideas to remove, without breaking, the seized abs wheel sensors from urS6 front hubs. The hubs are "stripped" of brake calipers and driveshafts, but still on the car. I wanted to avoid having to strip back to the abs lead connections which would also allow me to be able to remove the hubs from the car to be able to replace the two shocks.

Just doing the front end at the moment, no doubt the rear ones are seized too.

Always take these abs sensors out if they are currently free and copper grease them for the future.

Both lower ball joints had play, as well as lots of rust in the threads of the ball joint's two respective nut and bolts, ( front driver's shocks "blown", so all in all will be nicer to drive when it is back together ), and the passenger rear sub frame bolt sheared in half as it was seized in it's housing, so had to take out the subframe also, a pita to add to the fun of the four almost seized brake caliper carrier bolts in the hubs.

Will be buying two new rear bushes for the front subframe, thankfully the seized remaining part of the bolt is in the bush housing which unbolts from the chassis leg with three non seized bolts.

Sorry for the cathartic waffling, any ideas to remove the abs sensors without breaking them ?

    Thanks.

I have managed to free s2 one's before with a spanner (17mm i think from memory) over the top and gently moving them back and forwards after they've been soaked in wd40.

unless your blasting the hubs/uprights its not too bad to unplug the sensors and remove them with the struts and personally if they are not giving you grief atm thats the way i'd go tbh.

I asked the same question on my home forum 2 years ago when I re-did my UrS4's front end. Here is the question and the answers:

I would leave them be,'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

You dont need to remove the struts to replace the shocks btw,if you want you can borrow my gizmo

I had to use the destructo method to get mine out, there was no way they would shift, I took a month of various solvents, brake fluid, diesel, acf, wd, heat, vibration etc and still failed. The corrosion had done a very good job of bonding the different metals.

good sized punch and big hammer I have masked and painted my hubs with the sensors in place if you try to remove 99% of the time they end up U/S

Try this in case it works, one did and the second one it didn't. Took the seized abs sensor strut away from the car by doing as Acidburn said and disconnected the abs sensor's cable, but don't like to be to defeated.

Used this "brake piston mover back" and a suitable sized socket which as I say worked on one, but started to distort the silver end of the sensor with the second one given the pressure I was able to excert. Not sure if I should drill it out and put in a spare one, or risk putting it all back together only to find it is damaged from the slight distortion at the end inside the CV end.

Hope this helps someone with a jammed one, but as I found out, it won't work on badly seized one.
