    urS4 & urS6 suspension query

Is the suspension on a urS4 interchangeable with a urS6 ? including between a saloon and an Avant ?

    Thanks.

Absolutely. But with some twists. The UrS4/S6 avants typically had the rear anti-sway bar (which is mounted on a "special" cross-member) whereas the sedans/saloons did not always get the rear anti-sway bar (and cross member) (1BE code = sport suspension with the rear bar, 1BA = non-sport, no rear bar, except maybe the avants). Apikol in the US sells a rear bar kit to solve that issue.

The front struts varied but mostly because of the brakes, e.g. an early UrS4 with UFO brakes would have a strut (and bearing carrier) that doesn't work with the G60s the NAmerican UrS4/S6s got or the HP2s that the rest of the UrS4/S6 world got.

The front anti-sway bar also varied. 28 mm for 1BE sport suspension and 26 mm for the non-sport 1BA suspension. But this is independent of the UrS4/S6.

In NAmerica, only the 1992 MY and very early 1993 MY UrS4s got the 1BE sport suspension from the factory.

It's the rears that need careful matching as there are significant weight differences between quattro/FWD/avant/saloon models. Eibach fronts for the S4/S6 are all the same however I think they sit a little high compared to the rears and wonder if they were originally made for the V8 rather than the 20V turbo, given how plentiful they are in Germany.

There were V8 UrS4s in Europe as early as 1993. The UrS6s were also available in Europe with a V8.

I regularly trawl ebay.de for parts, and I would say that at least half of the hits I get where an S6 is for sale or breaking are V8s. And I think my front (european) Eibachs sit a little high on the 2.2T.....

                    So a Bilstein B12 Pro Kit (46-192424) for a 95 S6 Turbo Avant would fit a 94 100 S4 Turbo Avant?

I ask because according to the Bilstein catalogue i does not. Or they just dont offer it.
                    Thanks!

I can think of no reason why it won't fit. Everything to which it attaches is the same between both cars.

IIRC you should be looking at B6 or B8s. Frankly I don't recommend the Bilsteins particularly with Eibachs on C4s people seem to be getting better results with Konis and even OEM boge. The Bilsteins are very harsh and make the car very floaty.

Any idea on part numbers for a nice spring/shock setup for my 94 Avant? Should be a bit lowering as well.
