I bought a set of solid rose jointed top mounts years ago. They sharpened up the front end and have been fit and forget. No more MOT fails after the OE ones lasted a few months before collapsing. Not sure who makes them currently...

I find them really good! Ive got all 4 on mine. Just make sure the strut top nut is done up tight and the locking collar to the body, if either of these get loose then they'll rattle. Mine were all blue QRS ones which are NLA but they were made for QRS by compbrake. I sent two of my QRS mounts to CB for new bearings and thry encountered issues and they ended up sending me two new black (CB) mounts pretty good customer service imho.

How long did they last before needing bearings?

I have compbrake topmounts on the front, and im decided to put them also on the rear (I can hear the rattle of oem(new) on the back.

The fronts have only 2000kms, so cannot tell how long the unibal last.

I was going to say. If you disregard the lack of a uniball, with the mount savers the top mounts should not collapse. Let us know Ross.

I know mine are ok so far but I have the pro mounts on, on mine

i bought the mounts second hand from a friend, 2x new unused and 2x were fitted to the front of his. one needed a new bearing but i just wanted them done in a pair. my mate said it always rattled and thinks it was just a bad bearing. Compbrake say though that they have vastly improved the quality of the bearings they use since they used to manufacture them for QRS... but im currently running QRS on the front and compbrake on the back. The fronts have been on for about 6000 miles and still feel like new....

Sounds like an improvement over factory so far then. Interested to see how they continue to last.

Im running poly/solid mounts everywhere with KW V2 with a fairly low ride height, and i live in Wales! So they're getting more abuse than most too...
