Can someone tell me what the best suspension set up is for the Audi S2 3B, and where i maybe able to find a reasonable deal. I would like preferably fully adjustable. I am currently running on 16 inch rims but would like to upgrade to slightly larger 18's when the cars gets a bit of cosmetic treatment. The suspension is something i would think of buying almost immediately, as standard although nice, i feel is getting slightly tired.
I have tried the HR springs and Koni shocks kombination, works very nice. But changed to KW variant 2 fullyadjustable coilovers this summer, and I must say my mouth smiled even wider when driving with that set! Very easy to adjust, and you can feel the difference between hard and soft setup. As known other manufacturers say its adjustable, but even how much You turn the screw You cant feel any change in the road holding. So thats my experience! Hope it helped.
I run Koni & H&R setup on two and half turns, wouldn't want it any stiffer. Will be doing the ARBs soon as this is what acheives that really flat cornering feel. Having said that IMO the more "race feel" your suspension is, the less forgiving it is on the limit! Could be swapping end before you know it, i have!

I'm not worried about swapping ends. I used to drive a Renault years ago. If the Audi snaps it's like slow motion. I'm also hoping to do the ARBs. It's the weight and roll of the S2 that's the problem i think.
Body roll is the big issue. When I first got my avant I fitted RS2 dampers and ARB's and the body roll and ride was much improved even on 10 year old springs.
I've since fitted RS2 spec H&R springs and a 19mm adjustable RS4 rear ARB (as is always the case with the S2 you get used to things too fast and want more - even the 993TT brakes!!). This setup has removed even more bodyroll and cornering is very flat now even with the ARB on soft setting.
This comes at a price though as the ride is a lot more harsh and suspension bushes don't last (new top mounts every six months or sooner). Before you wafted along in comfort without feeling all bumps wheras now you can feel every pebble you drive over. This is of course down to the springs which I feel are a bit too stiff for the majority of UK roads. The handling is fantastic on nice smooth tarmac but put some undulating country lanes under the tyres and it can get a little hairy.
The stiffer rear ARB does increase the tendency to snap away and you can occasionally feel the back end skip around very tight corners when you push it hard. As 4WheelDrifter said though it is very predictable and I've never had snap away without being able to keep it in check--YET

I have the RS2 front and rear antiroll bars already, plus QRSports top mounts, alloy subframe mounts and nylon polymer wishbone bushes. My springs/dampers are getting a bit old (plus when I go the car, they were set up very poorly - one stiff up front and one soft!), that may well be the reason I'm not so happy with it at the moment.
The handling isn't awful, don't get me wrong. I just want to get it as close as I can to what my series 2 coupe was like.
Just thinking. If you want smooth roads, move to Cornwall. Thanks to EU funding, they resurface roads that would be considered like new anywhere else. I've seen it being done.
Wales is the same. I go once or twice a year and even the old single file country lanes that are better than the A roads and motorways in the midlands.

Oh yeah. Wales. I got my S2 from Wales. Luckily the guy met me half way, so I didn't have to drive the roads there. I don't think it would've survived otherwise!
