I'm surprised those guys hadn't foreseen this would happen when taking the hydraulic assist off their racks - the steering feel must have felt really weird anyway
Cant wait to try it out. But first i have to finish the car

          I'm sorry i didn't update this earlier.

I finished the steering column and placed it in the car. It was working fine but still had to solve some issue. I didn't have any time to work on it so i just fitted a manual steering rack until i had some time again.

As said there are some issue to solve. The steering was really vague in the middle and did not self center.

Who has experience with this Opel corsa power-steering column? I know there are a lot of race cars using the column so i think there is something wrong with my install.

I only used one u-joint as i didn't had any room for 2. I think that that is my problem. The steering column is almost in one line with the steering rack. But is it possible this is my problem?

Do you have original fuse and relay holder? Does the motor go in front or behind the relay panel? I just got heater- and air condition cores replaced and it seems to be snug place for motor. I have not yet got the corsa steering column but just planning to do it.

There is a automatic controller available in case your issue is with too much assistance on high speed. Or you just need more castor angle

Where could I get piece of spline bushing (weldable) to fit S2 steering rack. Steering column end is OK with Corsa C joint like in picture. Problem with the original is that it is aluminium and therefore can´t be welded to Corsa joint. Could the early 80 splines be same. At least the joint desing looks similar to S2: http://en.bildelsbasen.se/?link=item...st_id=16410181 . Corsa C joint needs to be shortened a bit. Else it looks like good way to go. Between Audi and Corsa steering locumns I have simple bushing OD50mm ID ~35mm lenght 35mm. Corsa steering column I have is adjustable. I believe it is slightly shorter than fixed one.

I removed the rubber and welded a sort of cage around the allu bit. I didn't like the rubber piece. Little difficult to explain. If i not forget i will make a photo this weekend.

And pleas let us know how it turns out for you and how it drives. I still did not have time to work on it again

Looks like there is no space for double joint. I only weld flange to inner tube from corsa joint. Then bolt it to Audi´s aluminium spline thingy. There is only 30mm of collapsible tubing in the installation and everything is in line. Not sure if this is safety improvement at all. Original had maybe 20cm of collapsible part in the column. I wish the steering column would be shorter

OK so you skip the collapsible joint?
Corsa B steering column would be shorter but not so easy to get.

Yea I skipped the joint too, then the corsa spline fits direct to the rubber coupling on the Audi rack. So just the small part at the top is collapseable on mine.

Does the electric address work well?
