    Yep its normal

If you look at the hub it will become obvious , bigger hole on the wheel side, smaller hole on the inside.

Be very careful when pushing in the hub into the bearing, you must support the bearing on the rear side as the hub goes in otherwise you could ruin the bearing.

I know that is normal for a C4 UrS4/S6, as noted here:

IrishS2: Your lovely hub photo showing the two diameters will be stolen and used in my wheel bearing post linked above (credit to you of course).

i do open the bearing carefully, and fill some deasent grease in... the org grease arent no god... and have the rubber/ plastic on again... i do use the mobil xhp222... ( blue colored) the bearing will last longer ! i put the new bearing in the housin, by the outering in my hyd press, then i have the hub in, BUT i have the thrust in the back of bearing in THE SENTERrings.. IF you do this wrong; the bearing are gone, in 10 second; YOU WILL AXESSMARKED THE BALLS, IN THE RIDGE IN THE OUTERING...
