C4 Steering Rack Question

Can the steering rack from a later model C chassis be swopped into a C4 to give a faster rack ?

i.e. less turns look to lock, as it is one thing I would like to upgrade on my urS6 - RHD.

Did the S cars not get a quicker rack vs any other models? You could ask someone who rebuilds racks if they could modify one.

If you mean the C5/6 I doubt you'll find it's anywhere near a bolt on conversion, although it would be nice if someone chimes in and says they've done it.

After driving a Mercedes for a while I'd personally like more lock, 3 point turns are 5 in the Audi.

Nice idea @macspring. The only way i am and i suspect you too will get better suspension and steering on the C4 chassis is to get someone to graft in the complete set up ie strut towers the whole caboodle form a C5 chassis.Massive job. Tell me if there is another route to transform the C4 chassis suspension/steering??
