Hello.
Does someone have experience with some comfortable lowering springs for an S2 Avant?
Would like to have it a bit lower but still keep a comfortable and good ride quality
As long as you stay with the same amount of coils if possible, then shouldn't be too bad...IMHO as thats what I have done on my 90 7A ( same shocks...)
H&R's tbh. They are the most common and give a tad firmer but without losing all the comfort. When you lower a car, its never ever going to be as comfy as standard. Sayign that, I have been running H&R's on my avant for years and prefer it with them on.
It would take some pretty expensive springs and dampers to get any ride comfort on a 1.5+ ton car with a fairly basic suspension design... Having been in a KW V1 equipped B4, I can't really say that it's any better than my Koni & HnR coupe.
I think you've got to decide between looks and some sort of comfort really... Even OE springs on uprated dampers are pretty poor
Maybe a set of KW V3s or something in the £1500-2000 region would work better but unless you're minted, that's not really what you want to hear

I also have this, i lowered mine and went straight back to the standard springs, too low and not really a benefit in handling for me, too many pot holes and speed bumps around me made it of no use. the Bilstiens feel great with original springs
