S2 (Avant) and 80 quattro suspension

Did a quick search but can't find the answer I'm looking for.

Is the rear suspension - wishbones, uprights etc - the same for an S2 Avant as the B4 80 quattro?

Well I have a 1993 S2 Avant and am possibly going to be purchasing rear suspension components from a 1995 80 quattro

dont think the part are interchangabel.. without major rebuld, and some weldin... i will NOT go for this..BUT i think ive seen some cars with rear end( called competition, or like that) read; some cars are thrue one year in front end, and the newer parts in the rear end( called GT or sport verson)

If you're talking springs and dampers then although they will fit, the S2 runs stiffer and lower springs and uprated dampers as standard and aftermarket kits are different rates & heights also. Hubs are different (4 stud) and thee nay be a few drive line differences related to that too.

Jack is looking to buy my B4 80 quattro saloon rear axle parts, its the top and bottom wishbones and uprights (the bits that hold the wheel bearing) As far as I was aware all of those parts are interchangeable, obviously the hubs are different.

Yes I was aware that the hubs are different and my car already has non-standard springs/dampers.

Thanks for the words of wisdom chaps
