    Subframe bushes replacement-advice needed

Hi guys. I finally found time today to fit new bushes to my subframes. I thought it will be a easy job but now I'm asking you for help guys. The problem is -the bush just doesn't want to go in. I have used plenty of lube but when i start to push it in all it happens is that the bush is started crashing.it just looks like the rubber lip on the top of bush is too large but it is definitely the right part number. Could you please advise me guys if there's any special tools req.to do this job and if anybody else had had the same problem.many thanks-Pete

Are they poly bushed or OEM type? I would assume OEM may require a press as they are a very very tight fit!

If OEM, then you won't get them in easily, they are sort of top-hatted both ends, so need a fair amount of pressure to get over that initial hump, that and lube so they don't tear.

      One reason I went polybush.

You should be able to do it without a press, maybe with a bolt and plenty of lube.

        There a guide here: http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articl...r_subframe.htm

Explanation for fitting the new ones is quite brief but might help.
