    rear tie rod to hub

trying to remove my nearside rear tie rod tonight where it connects to the hub carrier and seems that i cannot get it to slide out the arm.

I've left it soaking in penetrating fluid but going to slow me down getting the rear wheel bearing sorted if i cannot get them split

    Any tips guys?

    Cheers
    David

Have you tried a decent ball joint separator?
You can also use a small puller if you have one?

tried jacking it on the stud to see if the force applied was greater than that of the spring to push the arm off it and a bit of traditional tw&&ing of the arm with a mallet but nothing

Just had the same on the front yesterday. Spent an absolute age twatting the **** out of it (ruining the thread and my hands) only to pop it out in 5 seconds with a borrowed splitter today, as per Error404's post.

Have you tried the 2 hammer method?

Hmm, will give the two hammer a go first thing otherwise Darren that would be great. If I do get it apart would be great if I could take you up on the offer of your press to push out and replace the wheel bearing.
