I have a 1996 s2 coupe with a 3 spoke airbag steering wheel. I want to swap the airbag wheel for a 3 spoke non airbag s2 steering wheel. From what I have read so far I need the earlier type steering cowling/column with the horn ring. What else do I need? Is it a straight swap fitment wise? (Steering column size). Some input from someone who has successfully done this would be much appreciated.

steering wheel swap
Do you need an adapter for the steering column to mount the older style 3 spoke non airbag steering wheel. Been searching the forum for info and its not very clear. I have sourced an earlier type steering wheel column/cowling with the horn ring. Also I have been told I will need to remove the bulb for the airbag light on the dash. How do I remove the speedo cluster?Comment

Easies way is to remove the steering wheel (big nut)Do you need an adapter for the steering column to mount the older style 3 spoke non airbag steering wheel. Also I have been told I will need to remove the bulb for the airbag light on the dash. How do I remove the speedo cluster?
then the top column cover above the stalks (2 philips screws from below)
unscrew the 2 philips screws that hold the clocks in
unplug all the multiplugs at the back of the clocks
remove clocks
AFAIK the airbag light should illuminate and go out to pass an MOT, in reality ......
Easy to make a jumper cable off enough bulb anway if that is your thing.
