    S2 ABY Avant Dampers

This has probably been covered somewhere but I've searched with little success. One of my front dampers has popped and I want to replace both fronts with standard items for the time being. I phoned up audi and was told there were three types for my year S2 avant, a green, white and yellow. Signified by a paint mark on the damper itself. But having covered 114k miles I can't see a paint mark on the damper anywhere. They've told me the green ones are out of stock now, and couldn't tell me the differences between the 3 types.

Can anyone shed any light on this, or point me in the direction of a supplier for the correct dampers?

Also tempted by a set of h&r springs that are for sale on here, and could also be pointed in the direction of some decent aftermarket dampers that would take the H&R springs...

    Thanks for any input,

    James.

Those h&r springs on here where a bargain, you should snap them up if they're not already taken and get them fitted!

As for dampers, personally I'd say you'd be mad not to upgrade from stock. Go for a set of Bilsteins B3s, or Koni Sports. I'm not sure what power output your car has, or what your driving style is like, but my advice is to make any improvement you can. Polybushes, thicker ARB's, adjustable track control arms, top mounts etc etc

In stock trim, they handle like crap. Anyone who defends that point is just dumb. I'm allowed to say that cause I have one

The stock replacement Bilstein B4 are also fine for normal road driving.

It's purely road use, second car bought for a bit of fun as I've always had a soft spot for them. Power is standard at the moment but the plan is to change turbo and go for more power over winter.

I'll have a look at the koni shockers then, and snap up these h&r's if I can. Any recommendations of the actual dampers and where to buy from?

I've only just discovered Quattro corner! I'll give them a ring on Monday, as well as Dialynx because they're quite near me. Should be able to get what I need through those guys.
