Ive been selling suspension for a good while now. I like KW, they have the best ride quality by far, but the longevity isn't as good as a £800 set of coilovers should be. I had a set faulty from out of the box, according to the arm dyno they had very little rebound damping, which was found to be correct on a proper dyno. Who else would check that though? I doubt most would have noticed bar the poor ride.
Now if TA Technix (maker of those lovely £150 coilovers the golf boys love) can make a damper that doesn't blow, why can't KW? I got a letter from them recently saying they are making all the damper in house now, which led me to think... who's been making their dampers previously? Hopefully the new lot won't blow like all the others.Comment

Its strange because when i took the damper off it felt fine initially. Then i pressed the stanchion down 3 or 4 times with very little resistance then it suddenly felt normal but topped out with a clunk. Then it seemed to go back to normal. The main noticable issue was that i could not push that corner down when it was fitted to the car. I expected it to be stuck when i took it off but it felt quite smooth. I have not been informed what was wrong with the old insert. I wonder if they bother to do any tests or just bang a new cartridge in and have done with it?
All i know is that my car is quiet ( well despite the usual trim creaks) and the handling is noticably less crashy...Comment
