    Wishbone bushes

I have ordered some superlex wishbone bushes today, but they only do bushes for the larger diameter wishbones. I think these are the cast items and not the pressed steel ones.

    So what im asking is...........

Are they front pressed steel wishbones the same as rear pressed steel ones?? And if so, does anyone have a spare wishbone that they can make a set of bushes for??? I will deal with sending it to them etc, and it may take a while for them to come up with the goods, but i have heard very good things about this company and their bushes look a lot better than the other offerings of other poly bush makers.

Just changed front wishbones to cast items (see pm). As are new come with bigger bushes so not changed them yet. On rear have put on bushes from QRSport (£90 if remember correctly?), and am very pleased so far. Apparently the polyflex ones are not as good as superflex ones

Thats why i want a spare wishbone so i can get a decent price for the pressed bushes. The superflex bushes are the best of the lot. Have heard nothing but great stories about them and they are only 30 mins down the road from me. I think that the superflex bshes are also great value, havent seen the bill yet,but nowhere near 90 quid for the front bushes.

Would it not be easier to send them a bush that they could use.

I can send you a wishbone from an old Audi 90 I had. Still uses the same bush 8A0 407 181. This is a supercession of 857 407 181 and is 35mm in diameter.

Tom, you wouldn't have their website would you?

Forget that. Google produced the site.

ive made out of shore 80'A PU With the inserts cast in for all the rear bushes for a 200sx made a big difference, making some for mine at the moment out for shore 90'A for my wishbones, which is ridgid enough to turn with a lathe, 80 was a bit unstable and difficult to machine hence casting it

Are you sure superflex doesn't make bushes for the pressed wishbones already? According to their catalog they do :

              SPF1428 Inner Wish Bone Early 37.5mm OD 857407181 & 8A0407181

It doesn't say that it's for S2 but the bushes are the same as in 80/90.

anyone know how stiff the superflex bushes are? I need to do all mine and was not sure whether to go OEM. Coz I'm such a girl I don't want crash-bang and squeaks all the time.

Fairly sure they're different bushes for cast or pressed wishbone, the catalogues say that.

When I did the wishbone bushes on the cq20v, they sent me S2 ones. I think these were about 41mm, the ones I needed were about 37mm, so I had to wait.

Sorry, my bad. Didn't make it that clear. It's this bloody phone on my desk at work. People keep phoning me to order parts and it gets in the way of being on the forum. According to our new company rule book I can be instantly dismissed for using the internet/email/mobile phone at work. In fact anything that isn't 100% work related.

I meant the rear pressed wishbones use the same smaller bushes as the pressed fronts. Cast fronts use the bigger bushes.
