    Are we talking 40mm more than 1BE ( sports ) suspension or 1BA ( standard ) suspension.

I am using 1BE springs at the front and B6 struts ( new ) , and the ride is firm with a lot of travel , and I do not like it - even the stance of the car is quite high. Should I go to sport springs ( -40 mm) - eibach, h&r.. and b8 bilsteins or ???. I have not done the rear yet - standard 1BE shocks .

As the car is RS2'd I would like a sporty suspension with shortish travel and good roadholding and grip , what is not exactly the case with the 1BE + Billstein B6

No, based on standard setup not sports suspension. If you've got B6 Sport dampers, then you can easily go to 40mm and 50mm at a push, but you might have to shorten your bump stops.

      I hope this makes sense...

Has anyone ever found some Ohlins dampers that fit the c4 chassis.
So far I've found these coilovers

              1. 2bennett street sport kit
              2. KW v1
              3. KW custom competition sets starting @2,200 Euros custom made
              4. Koni street/sport shocks with various springs
              5. Koni racing shocks with various springs
              6. Bilstein b6 shocks with springs
              7. bilsteing b8 shocks with springs

KW also do a KW3 for the UrS6. I think you have to send them your UrS6 existing strut housings for them to modify. Which they do, and they come back either chromed or galvinised in 'gold'. Cant't remember the exact finish.

I think JP on here has them on his lovely 'grey' UrS6 Avant.

I agree with earlier comments, the European sports suspension is still too high for a decent 'look'. The American spec of non sport suspension is mad high and looks like it is off road / no engine in place.

Having said all of that Audi must have done it for ground clearance purposes as when a C4 is lowered the rear section of the exhaust can hang a bit low, especially if it's current exhaust is not properly fettled and using new and correct rubber hangers.

I have the euro sports suspension on mine currently and it looks too high even for a normal car. Going to try spurious sport springs I have with some new Bilstein B8 sports shocks front and rear, and I see how it looks and rides.

There are only two things I'm concerned about, one is it will not be low enough at the rear to match the front. I want to avoid the european preference to have a nose down stance. So I may have to subsequently look at getting grooves cut into the rear shock bodies to lower the spring perch. I'll be able to check if clearance is an issue, once they're fitted, hopefully not.

The second concern is being able to get the camber settings back with in spec to avoid killing the front tyres. Has any one done the Igor mod?

Has anyone else any comments or feedback on C4q suspensions as the UrS6 suspension modifications are 'less well' catered for than even an S2, unless you go for a really expensive coilover kit. Looking for a budget / ghetto way to achive the same result.

They told me the only off the shelf kw for urs6 is the v1's. The ones you are referring to are custom 2-way
coilovers from KW competition department. Atleast that's what the people at KW GMBH told me?

                    Hi Yaz,

Can you advise of the part number for a pair of Blstein B8 sports shocks for a 97 UrS6 ? (Using them with lowered aftermarket springs).

And the cost you can supply them at? And how long it would take from order date to delivery date?

                    pm me if you prefer.

                    Thanks.

                            Right, for a URS6 saloon:

                            Bilstein B8 Sport fronts part # 34-003695 = £130.00 each

2 units in stock in UK, plenty in Germany

                            Bilstein B8 Sport rears part # 24-020664 = £110.00 each

up to 2 weeks lead time from Germany, or direct ship for £25 - 3 working days to UK.

                            I hope this helps.

                            Thanks

I changed rears and all is good now. Very smooth and progressive ride on 235 45 17 tyres. B6 on 1BE springs. The ride height is a bit too high for my liking.
