    Suspension bush removal

So I've got a few days off work this week while the S2 is in the garage (mainly to undo my handywork ) and thought I'd get started with my suspension overhaul.

I've got a complete set of arms, wishbones etc. (haven't decided if I will replace the subframes too, but I probably will) complete with a variation of tired old bushes. What is the easiest method for removing bushes with either tools I'm likely to have already or ones that are easily obtainable?

I've also got a pair of rear hubs from on 80q that need removing as they're useless for my S2.

    Any guidance will be appreciated

For the subframe, we removed my front ones by having someone stand on part of the subframe and another person hammering a small chisel to drive the bush out, worked well!

Is a hydraulic press the only realistic option then?

Sure there are various methods like using heat but that is messy. As I said, the hammer and chisel worked a treat

For the wishbone bushes use a hole saw to drill through the rubber from both sides allowing you to push the centres out. Now with a hacksaw you can cut through the bush outer metal from the inside just to the point where you've cut it right through. You don't want to go too far and cut into the wishbone itself. With the metal bush outer cut you can easily drift it out of the wishbone.
