help! no power steering or power brakes!!

sooo I have no power steering or power brakes currently. I know my Power steering rack is puking fluid (reallly bad) so i pulled it out and am having it rebuilt! I think this could cause the problem?? if not, it needed to be done anyway...now i know this is the wrong section to ask, however, could the brake bomb be the problem??? idk i just dont have power anything so irkedd! just got this coupe and have a few kinks to work out but i guess thats the fun

The brake power is fed from the steering pump so if you are out of fluid because the rack is leaking this is why you have no power brakes.

This is partly the reason, along with the expensive cost of a brake bomb why people convert it to vacuum servo...

ok so i have seen a conversion to that...i mean i can find a brake bomb for like 400-500 is the conversion going to give me a better braking performance??? i just think its more complicated to do a conversion when i just need to replace the bomb?? also i never stated but im riding in a 90 7a coupe quattro...sorry new to the forum

The conversion will cost you approx £50 for a vacuum servo.
You keep your original brake master cylinder and make no changes to brake pipes.
You bin the bomb, remove a piston from your steering pump. And blank off the extra feed pipe to your steering hose.

It will give you an indistinguishable feel to your pedal and will be happy with big brake upgrades.

In fact the £350-£450 you save yourself you are on your way to a large brake upgrade too

£50 = $83 for a second hand servo, PM me and send me your email address. I'll give as good a guide as I can. Or do a search on here plenty have done it....
