I have the engine out of the urs4 and I have a ripped steering rack boot. So I cut the old one off and am looking at how to change this thing. Does the complete rack need to come out?? How is the rack separated so I can get the new boot on?

Yup. Pretty much has to come out. Good news is that is way easier with the engine out. I think the right side bracket comes off, allowing access to the boot. You could try it in the engine bay after loosening the mounts (but there will be issues at the steering column to rack connection (pinch bolt in passenger compartment). Some folks would suggest that this is a good time to R&R with a rebuilt rack. YMMV

There seems to be a lot more wires, pipes and general crap in my engine bay near the rack. Oh well yet another job. The rack is fine in terms of driving so I don't think I will get another one.....
