PAS Pump Piston Removal for Vac Servo?

I've just had to change my PAS pump after cooking the old one. The old pump had the feed for the brake bomb just blocked up, but having blocked the new one with the same bolt, fluid is just p*ssing past it!

I've read on other threads there's a piston you need to remove? Does anyone have any details/pics/guides for this? I couldn't seem to find anything other than folk saying that's what to do?

    Would be much appreciated, thanks!

As far as I can see, Undo the two cross screws, remove the pistons and springs and put back the screws. Thats the high pressure disabled.

I am going to copy this method though. A C4/80 Hybrid pump. No high pressure and its got the ability to mount in the same way as the stock s2 pump.

Are you referring to the banjo bolt when you say fluid is still passing by that? If you are then it may be the bolt that is the issue here. It has a fine filter in it which can get blocked easily.

Even with a solid bolt and crush washer, fluid gets past it

Anyway, I'll see what I find in the scrappy today, thanks for the help all!

There is a thread seal compound available in good motor factors - used for fuel lines and also gas pipe fittings... just apply a bead to the threads and torque it down as normal - it creates a great seal without locking up threads forever.

No amount of blocking was ever going to hold that pressure, my not so elegant temp fix was to connect a banjo up to the brake outlet and re-route it back to reservoir, have since removed the pistons and problem solved.

Pro tip for anyone looking to do the same - when undoing the big cross head bolts, just clamp them in a vice and unscrew the pump, massive pain in the **** otherwise!

              Thanks for your help all!
