Front wishbones on the rear - coupe

Anyone done this? Guessing that the 3 bolt design is stronger / stiffer than the 2, so just looking in to using some spare pressed items.

I've always wondered about this but never got around to taking any measurements, figured there must be a reason no one fit's the forged arms to the rear.

I plan on doing this on my SWB project, fitting the forged ones, I have compared the front and back ones and I cannot see why not

Aren't the rears the same as B3 2 hole fronts? Must check the numbers. Just the offsets that I need to look at.

i did it. moved the subframe back, moved the diff forward, some fiddling about with things til it all went back together. or maybe it was subframe forward, diff back. to keep the driveline in there and move the mount points of the LCA's.

so the forged arms are stronger than the stamped arms we all know. can you use forged control arms on the rear of a 1990 coupe quattro? i have a spare set of the arms, and if they are stronger and can be used on the rear, i would like to use them there as well on the drag car. thanks :D

IIRC Tonks has the forged arms on the rear of his S2

No I have standard arms on my S2, I have currently got the cast arms on the shorty, however it moves the wheel 5mm to 7mm further forward in the wheel arch.
I will be changing them to the sport quattro ones once they are finished.

To continue to use the cast ones on the rear speeding G60 is correct
                  subframe back, diff forward

What about slotting the balljoints to rotate them a little more? 1/4" isn't much of a rotation.
