I have had a slight squeal on start up and when first driving off in the rs2. There is also a strange noise I can't quite explain like a humming or whirring sound but off tempo like wha wha wha wha wha.
Me and a mechanic friend checked the belts today all seem tight. He then sprayed a small amount of lanolin based lubricant on each belt individually and when he did they PAS belt all the noises stopped completely. Timing and all auxiliary belts where done around 7 months ago so belts should be fine. Anyone had this problem? Looking for a more permanent fix than lubricating the belts.
The PAS belt does seem to be rubbing on the triangular bract that holds the plastic timing belt cover in place. Anyone know how to fix this?
Will have to double check but I am almost certain my PAS belt is toothless where as the images on s2central.com's timing belt renewal show a toothed belt.
