fitting C4 quattro rear subframe on FWD C4

    Will it worth?

I have a front wheel drive AEL A6 C4 and a rear subframe from a UrS6 AAN auto laying on my floor. The whole group of rear diff, struts, springs, schocks and sway bar...

Before watching if it does fit or not, will it worth something fitting it? I mean if the car will gain something in driving feel or if it's going to be worst if not dangerous.

Of course the diff become a useless weight, but my doubt is if the rear suspensions of the quattro C4 works fine only if the rear traction is running and what do they become without.

Hope my doubt is clear due to poor english.

      Mmm...

I will turn the car upside down, secure it on my CNC machining center and drill them

For sure will fit at this point.

Curious if a benefit is felt with the multi point rear suspension..

From a 2wd to multi point.. alot of work for.... benefit reward??

check if you have holes for bolts for front and rear subframe mounts ... as hunker7 suggested

if you have them or mounts can be easily fitted than go for it
remember you'll have to replace the gas tank too

remove the diff with front crossmember and axles and use outer parts of cv joints to hold the wheel hub in the bearing

benefits?? ... probably some positive gain in rear end handling and possibility to adjust camber/toe/caster

There are no mounting holes on C4 FWD body, I looked into this when I wanted to convert my V6 A100 FWD TO Quattro.

Thanks for all answers, I know it's quite senseless job. I'm going to have a look soon and let you know.

I have chance to drive FWD A6 and quattro A6 everyday and the quattro has much better handling. This made me curious about this.
