    Loss of Power Steering Fluid

    Hi guys

On the way home from work i totally lost PAS and on stopping found all the power steering fluid had gone. I carry a bottle with me for this kind of problem but 5 mins later had to stop and reservoir was empty again.

It appears to be leaking from the pump, around the pulley. I think the belt may have been too tight as there seems to be bits of metal on the bit of plastic between the pump and the main rad.

Do you think I have screwed the bearings and have destroyed the pump and if so what are my options as a new pump sounds v. expensive

    Cheers

i've had this mate.mine was only the top o-ring under the cross shaped plug.it was obviously making lots of horrible moises as it ran out, but, filled it with goo-2000 and replaced o-ring and it was mint again.hope yours is the same.

Bump to an old thread - my PAS pump is leaking. I'm going to replace the copper rings on the unions and the o-ring under the cross shaped plug - where can i find this o-ring? Is it a standard size?

There is also a cross head plug on the bottom of the pump directly opposite the one you see on the top.
