    rs2 suspension options?

going the whole hog and totally restoring rs2 atm, been off the road a few years, so replacing all the suspension components atm, will be poly bushing the whole car, but wondered what people go for with regards to suspension shocks/springs.

want to keep the car as original as possible, but some suspension parts including shocks and springs are not available, so what aftermarket options are there that are in keeping with the car, or respected upgrades that wont take away from the car or be detrimental to its value.

the only mods on the car are the big front brakes which were an option anyway, a miltek exhaust, and a chip set which can be swapped back to std if required. obviously the polybushes once installed will also be aftermarket.

if people can give me options and guide prices that would be great.

i could have the original shock casings blasted and coated along with the springs, but that doesnt really improve its performance, just appearance.

Kw seem popular. Keep the original stuff to so when or if yiu sell it the buyer has the choice.

kW Above however spends how much adjustability you would like once they are in the car . V1's are only height adjustable whereas v3 are height and damping etc ( but nearly twice the price )
Contact Yaz , Albert or will at vrs for prices .

Be worth speaking to other rs2 owners regarding polybushing the whole car. A mix of oem and poly is normally favourite for fast road use to give you some feel and compliance / comfort

Alternatively bilstein shocks with oem springs or h+r springs ( if you want to lower it ) have always been a firm favourite

        Hi,

I am in the same boat as you full refurb on Audi RS2 rear axle, subframe, suspension in a million bits all powder coated and ready to be rebuilt when I get time I have chosen Powerflex (purple) bushes and KW V3.

It will do you no harm to get in contact with David (LGK6D) on the forum he has an RS2 with KW V3 set up but I think he has used Powerflex (black) on his car but I have never been around country lanes in damp conditions as fast in my life
He has his car set up just so right, not to harsh and it was so settled going around the twisty bits.

Good luck and PM me so we can compare notes.

        John

If you're going to an OE restoration, then on stock springs, Bilstein B6 or with HnR springs, B8.

From memory, the springs are only the same as an S2 with air conditioning, so they're nothing special.

Don't get fooled by the RS2 specific HnR springs etiher, they're the same as S2 ones, just a different colour and 2x the price.

Yaz on here does Bilstein and HnR.

Is anyone aware of active systems like Bilsteins Damptronic, Hitachi or Bose Active Suspension that might be used on S2/RS2 with custom fabricated suspension components?

Anything is possible . It depends what you are actually looking to achieve ? The technology behind air ride for example has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years as has conventional coil over set ups

So you reckon Bilstein's damptronic system could be adapted for an RS2?
