I have some lowering springs that work fine, but I notice that they have some home made plastic 'sleeves' on the 'closed up' section of the front springs.
When the car is parked, the upper section of the spring closes up, and this is where the plastic sleeve are.
Are the sleeves to stop the springs 'pinging' when the car is turning from side to side.
You can see on the spring where they touch, (the sleeve does not cover this particular bit), when 'closed up' is causing the paint to wear away and a little bit of metal. Is this the reason for the homemade sleeves, or is there another reason ?
Th rear spring have the same sort of closed up section, but no sleeves. They obviously doe not twist in the same way as the 'steering' front springs.
Thanks for any comments / experiences.
