so must found the ratio of quattro typ85 gearbox,

and thanks for your "beware" about 4 cylinders rear drive shafts,
well i'll see with the owner what amount he wants for this car, maybe it'll worth it for the front & rear struts & other parts ;-) i have already found the front 82mm hub carrier from a 7a

      strut-leg conclusion ?

      Mby a dead thread but....
anyone know what's really compatible regarding front and rear strut-legs ?
      May I use a 200 (one-piece) strut-leg on both a type 85 and 89 ?
      and, vice-verca, s2 (two-piece) strut-leg on a 200 or/and on type 85 ?

        Cross-series Macpherson strut swaps...

I think I can answer this one.

Perhaps the best way to think about this is that amongst B-series cars, generally front to front swaps are possible; and sometimes rear to rear. Note the last S2s had the B4 (also early A4 ) style non-Mac. strut rear suspension.

        The 200 is not a B-series car.

The other cars you mentioned are.

          Ok, non-B-car struts won't fit any B-car.

but several discussions mention using C-car hubs on B-cars and as my goal is to go from 4x108 to 5x112 on my 1991 coupe quattro (7A) I'm trying to find the easiest path......

So far I've assumed my CQ has 82mm bearings so tried to find S2 hubs but with no success
Got hold of a pair of front hubs from a car with UFO brakes but not sure it will work out, propably needs machining and not sure about the offset.
For the rear I've found several threads claiming (early ?) A4 B5 Q would fit but also someone claiming that alter wheel offset ?

(I've bought a full set of S2 strut legs but prop don't need them (for this project) ?)

None of my cars are "late" but afaik all S2's is "B3" ?
