No rear arb or links .

I've had my s2 3 years odd now and slowly going through bits and bobs replacing and sorting niggles and issues. I've recently had the car up in the air for replacing all four wishbones and I've done front rear brakes. I've just twigged that the car doesn't have a rear arb fitted ,!? And hasn't had one since I bought it ! No drop links obviously also. Why would this have been removed ? I've just got hold of a rear subframe as mines knackered with holes in so no go for blasting and coating so was looking at doing track arms and links and so on.

Also where can I buy the whiteline bar etc many are using ? Cheers

How odd, I take it the subframe currently fitted is the original and has ARB mounting points, also that the rear struts both have drop link mountings? Maybe the car was owned by a tight wad who removed the assembly to save purchasing new bushes and drop links...

I think Demon Tweaks still sell the Whiteline ARB, however it's also possible to fit a front ARB if you swap the struts from side to side to reverse the drop-link mountings.

Fortunately my car had a Whiteline rear and RS2 Front ARB's fitted when I got it.

So as the car is standard bar the brakes whats best RARB to fit , bearing in mind I've never driven it with one so any will be an improvement ! , read somewhere that the standard s2 rear isn't up to much ? Are there better options I can fit without going whiteline etc?

Okey dokey , guess that's the way forward , didn't really want to start mucking around with struts as it'll lead to more jobs !! But do have some new struts to go on it so could do rears I guess while they're off...and may as well tackle rear subframe too. ..

. Sheesh!!... these cars once you start you just bounce from job to job !

Gaz: Find your S2's build tag. (In the boot under the storage bin in the corner or in the warranty/maintenance booklet). Look in the lower right corner. Does it say "1BA" or "1BE"?

I guess it's good to get all fresh bits on while your doing struts and antirollbar swap

On from this , so dropped my rear subframe and I've a v good non rarb subframe to put on, and planned to swap over mounts from each. Just cut off one mount from old subframe and it's pretty knackered by tin worm on the inside of the mount where track rod holes are located, to the extent that theres not much left. Was my plan A so now need a plan B !!

How close is the B5 suspension? Apikol has a B5 arb kit:
