Negative camber on my UrS6 AAN.

    Hey,
I have been chasing for a big while on fixing my bumpsteer and
Tramlining issue on my car.I had a problem on getting the camber
Within the tolerance due to improper welding strut alignment
when modding the HP2 struts with 'built-in' damper.I normally
got the camber around -1.2 on right and -1.8-1.9 on the left (front
Axle).I have done numerous things to rule out the culprit ie.tyre,
Pressure etc.finally,i decided to get the new Billy B8 and put another
Stock untouched HP2 strut back on.I still used the H&R violet as
known as the lowest spring available in the market for C4.i also
Bought the new Goodyear Asymmetric 2 255/35r18 all around.
It sits really tight under the front wheelwell since the BBS LM has
the ET+42 on the front.the inner sidewall barely touch the steering
arms.I was so surprised after a couple hundred miles on thi setup.
It eliminated all the tramlining and horribly bumpsteer issue though
I didn't have the car for wheel alignment checking.the car feels so
Much more stability and steady.i could let one hand off driving on
the left uneven road lane without any nervous on the steering wheel.
Previously i need to grab the wheel tight when driving it passing
pavement or uneven road surface which can be found on
any bangkok roads lol. From my visual checking i believe i got the
Camber readings less than -1 degree on both left and right.I did
Modding the stock camber plate and slotting the top mount and
Pulling it all the way out for least camber.I have a set of 2bennett
Camber plate laying for years regarding the nasty noisy spherical
Bearings.my next plan is we're here going to mod some tie rods end
and another lower spacer for lower control arms balljoint to retain
The stock suspension geometry to eliminate the bumpsteer issue
After lowered the car.will be posting soon.

I used the strap to make sure my strut is all the way out lol.

    Hi Pop,

Am I reading the post correct, that you are trying to correct a fault introduced by incorrect welding of the strut housings when converting the brakes ?

If so pay the money and get second hand Euro strut that don't require any modification for the fitment of your gorgeous front brakes. Expensive, but the the 'best' way.

If i've got it wrong ignore the post.

    Best wishes.

Only way a modded strut could affect camber is if the shock tube has been cut in parts and welded back in wrong angle. I would fix the strut first. Also adding more caster would make the car more stady to drive.

Yeah when building the built-in damper on the hp2 strut.the shop need
to remove the tube that holding the damper for the bigger tube and
Weld it back.the problem is like Thomas's mentioned.there's some errors
on the angle of the new oversize tube whilst being welded back on caused
The more negative camber on the left than the right.this 's very sensitive
To the camber since the welding spot is closed to the hub spindle.small changes
on this angle(welding position) created big changes on the camber.

I have installed Thomas's solid subframe bushings .this's a good thing since i didn't have to worry about the
Subframe bias to left or right.the mechanic always refuse to shift the subframe when do the wheel alignment
and caused the camber out on either side.
